Let’s quiet things down a little
You don’t need to fix everything right now. Start with one small thing that might help your mind feel a little quieter.
Try one of these right now
60-second reset
Slow things down with a simple breathing reset you can do anywhere.
Clear the noise
Get racing thoughts out of your head and onto something you can deal with.
Step away for five
Take five minutes away from screens and noise to give your mind some breathing room.
Your 60-second reset
Let your shoulders drop and relax your jaw.
Breathe in gently for 4 seconds.
Breathe out slowly for 6 seconds.
Repeat for five breaths.
Then pause. Notice one thing you can see, one thing you can hear, and how your body feels right now.
That’s it. You don’t need to do anything else.
Clear the noise
When your head feels full, getting everything out can make it feel a little more manageable.
Take a minute and write down whatever is on your mind.
Don't organise it. Don't solve it. Just get it out.
Then look at what you've written and ask:
What can I do something about today?
What can wait?
What isn't mine to deal with?
Choose one small thing you can act on.
Leave the rest where it is for now.
Step away for five
Give yourself five minutes away from whatever is demanding your attention.
Put your phone down or step away from the screen.
If you can, move somewhere different. Stand by a window, step outside, make a drink or simply sit somewhere quieter.
For five minutes, don't try to be productive.
Don't catch up. Don't scroll. Don't solve anything.
Just give your attention somewhere else for a moment.
Five minutes. Then decide what you need next.
